Having a mission statement is a nice point of difference.

Perhaps, 'Talebones Philosophy ' or such?

I only suggest exploring alternatives as someone who has spent too long in the corporate world, serving conscientiously under the banner of too many mission statements. Other people won't have the same visceral reaction.

Parking facilities are inherently creepy, good location for a scary story.

Your two points are dead center bullseye. Write good stories. Engage the community around those stories. I look forward to being a part of that community!

Ooh, I'm liking this short story already.

Also, I like the newsletter idea. As a slow fiction writer, I've been considering maybe adding something like that. Does it take a lot of extra work?

Honestly, no! I never get tired of talking about writing, so I've always got some topic I could chat about. 😂 It also gives me a good excuse to take part in flash fiction here, to keep my skills sharp in between big shares, and then share them in this setting. It's very flexible and fun!

That's true. I love talking about writing as well, as most writers seem to. Maybe I'll give it a shot.

So excited for the rest of this story!

Top of mind is the tale of Beowulf featuring Grendel and Aglæcwif. It's such a rich story that I unfortunately had never truly read/ heard until I was an adult.

Ugh. I'm going to have to read the whole thing but the energy it gives off is haunting/backrooms stuff. I'm not happy about it. Horror isn't my genre. But I'm invested in the Garage attendant now.

Story featuring a creature: Pans Labyrinth has a lot of really interesting ideas even if kind of spooky/grotesque.

I really enjoy creature design and I feel like I should have a better answer for this question but I can't think right now.

As someone who has read the full story three times now I am excited to see what you think when SE Reid releases it in it's entirety. I do love horror though so there is that. However, the fascinating thing for me with this story is that it's told from the perspective of someone who is a "B level" character. Think about if one of the "Red Shirts" on an away team in Star Trek was to keep and write a journal of his exerience. He's not Kirk, or Spock, or Bones but he is a person and has a story to tell. It's a very refreshing perspective for a scifi/horror story.

TBH the first thing that came to mind was the Garbage truck man from the very beginning of the Terminator movie (the first one). That's a great POV to take for stories. I'm looking forward to it!

That's actually a great comparison to keep in mind for this story.

NO SPOILERS! 😂😂😂

Oh none at all. I've been careful in my comments ;-)

Oh I missed the question earlier. Favorite movie/story featuring a creature...impossible to answer. I have too many favorites.
