Greetings, Talebones Readers!
Normally on Tuesdays I send out a more official housekeeping missive called Talebones Tuesday, but this week my Tuesday was a bit too busy, so I didn’t manage it.
That said, I have a small handful of things to inform you all about, so I’ll just take a brief minute of your time and then send you on your way!
Ready? Let’s go!

Let’s make your projects sing!
#1: Ebook and Paperback Updates
As many of you know, I’ve been deep in the weeds of getting my work published and out into the world for a few months now. In October I managed to get my first Ferris Island short story collection, The Orchard Hounds, out as an ebook, with hopes to publish a paperback version as well, but it’s always been pushed back.
The delay really has always come down to technical issues; my main computer (an ancient yet beloved little Chromebook) is not compatible with the programs that make formatting (especially through Amazon/Kindle products) boneheadedly simple and easily convertible to print.
BUT thanks to a generous gift from the lovely
, those limitations have finally been lifted and I’m working fast to catch up with my goals!First, both of my published ebooks—a nonfiction devotional and the fiction short story collection—received full formatting makeovers! If you’ve already purchased your copies of either or both, they should change over to their new versions automatically with better readability, cleaned-up spacing, drop caps, and fancy title pages.
Second, the paperback plans are now MUCH more feasible. I know I’ve been saying that for a while, but I really do mean it. ISBNs have been acquired, formatting and cover design is underway…all the good stuff!
Thank you for your patience with me! And thank you Shaina for saving my bacon!
#2: Pilgrim God
If you observe the church season of Advent, you know that it’s starting on December 1st this year. You can snag the shiny reformatted ebook copy of my Advent devotional, PILGRIM GOD, right here! It’s $2.99 to purchase or you can read for free with Kindle Unlimited.
It’s also perpetual, so buy it once and you can use it any year!
#3: Imp
My one-off short horror serial set at a silent creative retreat in the Cascade foothills is drawing to a close!
The final installment should be out sometime today. It’s been a very fun and spooky interim project, and I hope you all have enjoyed it! Start reading from the beginning here.
#4: Sayblood’s Children
We’re a mere few days away from a seasonal change here at Talebones, and that means a new three-month span of fiction!
On December 6th I’ll be releasing the first episode of our Winter Serial, a folk horror/romance called Sayblood’s Children. It will run twelve episodes—a new one dropping every Friday—and wrap up before March.
Synopsis: Othniel Brack left his disgraced family name back in England and set sail for the untamed western edge of Washington Territory, seeking a new fortune and a new legacy for himself on a small, barely inhabited island overgrown with wild apple trees.
Life is quiet on that little Orchard Island, until a strange discovery on a windswept beach changes Othniel’s life—and the island’s history—forever.
Thank you for reading!
As always, I’m SO grateful for your continued support of Talebones! None of this storytelling fun would be possible without your attention, joy, and generosity.
If you celebrate Thanksgiving, I hope you have a truly joyful and delicious holiday.
If not, I hope the end of your week is a true delight.
Your grateful storyteller,
All good news today, especially for us readers! Loving the heck out of imp, and so looking forward to the winter serial! And I find it not surprising that Shaina gave you that assist...she is a star and a damn fine writer to boot!
