Hi, S.E., I've only read the first half of the story (as I have to go to work) but I love your writing. The opening has beautiful descriptive details, "Around her, the little old house on The Row stretched its elbows and knees in the cooling summer dark, a snap and thunk like bones and joints."
The characters are likable and the growing tension, as far as I've gone is terrific. I'll be back for more. Thank you.
Grade A camp horror story. I had to resist the urge to restack with a joke about "birdmother" but the comments are not spared by my restraint. Love how this is snowballing, the new people and the new story somehow worked together to ratchet the tension and make the familiar unfamiliar. Loving this!
I'm having flashbacks to my own years at camp, and the abandoned cabin a friend and I found on the edges of the campground, and the ghost stories we passed around every year... the scariest thing we ever *actually* had was a mama bear and her two cubs that decided to move in one year, lol. I love how every camp has its own ghost stories... but I'm all on pins and needles for this one, because I *know* Ferris has more than stories up its sleeves, and Ivy already has a tendency to brush up against the supernatural -- Can't wait to see where this goes from here!!
Loved the roller coaster ride of emotions! And Ivy’s attempt to not appeared shaken to the core. I’m definitely not reading these episodes before bedtime!
I'm reading this from the air-conditioned indoors of the Midwest in daylight and I'm still unnerved. This is awesome.
Also, on a different note, I wonder if the Woodmother is related to Sayblood? Hm.
I was wondering about Sayblood, too!
This is a good read!

Boy S.E., that was a humdinger... setting an interesting tone and backdrop for whatever is coming...ooooOOOAAH
I made the mistake of reading this while in a cabin in the woods. 😳 Such a fantastic, creepy ghost story!
I really want to find out what the deal is with the first Cabin three!
I've had a bunch of rabbits in my yard lately. I wonder if there's a Woodmother down in the South . . .
