Imp is just fabulous! I devoured each part as soon as it appeared and the end is perfection - closure, but with so many possibilities waiting. I hope it will go on! Graft Creek is too wonderful and I wish I could join the retreat.
That was unexpected, and therefore a perfect twist...a fresh plaything for imp. And an open ended horrific future for unsuspecting but ambitious artist visitors!
Ah, good question! Candidly, I love moths. So that’s reason #1. :)
But a more “story forward” reason is that I knew I didn’t want to reveal what Imp looks like, so I needed a creature that could be its figurehead and up the ante of the tension in a tangible way. And since Imp’s entire MO seems to be that it’s drawn to creative fervor, I liked the parallel of moths being drawn to light. Not the most profound imagery, maybe, but I enjoyed playing with it!
Splendid. Perfect ending…And i’d love to hear some of those supernatural stories about the area. As i said above, not sure i’d want to visit in person, but happy to do so from the (relative) safety of my recliner 🫣☺️
Brava! What a fun read, I looked forward to each section - and will never look at a moth the same again!
This is the perfect ending for this story! Love it!
Oh no! Andrea! 🫣 This was such a fantastic, chilling, open ending!
Had to sneak off during Thanksgiving-Eve in-law evening to read this in snippets

Not so sure i’d want to visit…
Good balance of providing closure leaving it open for possibilities. Nicely done.

Ooh and so the wheel turns. Will Imp like being written about?
Ahhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!
NOO. I can’t believe it’s over! I loved it.
And there it is. That was fantastic. This one goes in your next collection, I hope.
oh no you didn't!
PS. Why moths? Any particular reason?
