Hello folks. My name is Alex and full disclosure I am SE Reid's husband. I don't tend to read a lot of fiction prefering instead to read up on Theology and Philosophy. Of the fiction I have read in the past I have been a big fan of Iain Banks and NO not just because he was Scottish like myself. I am very much looking forward to the public release of "A Thing Must Be loved". As a fan of scifi and horror I have read A Thing Must Be Loved four times now and I absolutely love it. I am so very excited to see what you all think of it and to be able to discuss it with you in this space. Oh and being British is has to be tea. Specifically Scottish Blend. As my Mum says, "Where there is tea...there is hope".

I’m from the North East of Scotland. I lived in Glasgow for 6 years though getting my Batchelor and Master degrees and then a year or two there besides that. Good times.

Hi, I’m Sujan, and I drink tea, as civilised folk do, unlike most of the heretics here.

My point, exactly!

If I drank tea, it would be false advertising.

I'm Julie, and I read just about any kind of fiction. Looking forward to following your stories here! I believe I'm a situational drinker—meaning I drank tea when I studied in England, and now almost always coffee in the States.

F1rst p0St! Scoot wuz here! Excited for you and this new project, SE! Think you've got a tremendous model here and it's gonna be big!

PS - I managed to disabuse myself of a coffee addiction completely, Tea has taken a more prominent role as a result. Gotta get that sweet sweet caffeine somehow!

Hey there! I love this guestbook idea! I love it so much, I’m stealing it!

I grew up in North Carolina... which is a sweet tea state. But I don’t think that’s what you mean. I recently became a pretty dedicated coffee drinker, though!

For some reason I’m just now seeing this digital guestbook. Oh well, here we go!

I’m Derek residing in middle-Georgia, a bit south of Atlanta.

For fiction I love tales of Old-England, Christendom and knights. Things of that sort. “Ivanhoe” is on my all time favorites.

I probably do read more non-fiction, however and love to read on theology/ Philosophy and the Early Church and things of that nature. But I LOVE non-fiction novels. Capote’s “In Cold Blood” and “Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil” come to mind.

As for tea vs. coffee, I’m content with either although I do prefer coffee. But I’ll never turn down a cuppa if offered.

I was given Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil but didn’t get in with it very well. Maybe I should try again.

Well I was living in Savannah at the time of my reading so it was literally very close to home. But it’s alright if it’s just not your cup of tea. And avoid the movie at all costs. It’s absolutely dreadful.

You must be near Macon. And have you read Chesterton's *The Ballad of the White Horse?"

Very close to Macon. About 30-45 minutes northwest.

And I’ve not read that but like the title at least! Haha

Feasts and Fables's avatar

Fuelled by coffee. Barrie, the scribbler - the 'Fables' of 'Feasts and Fables', the identity we adopted after 5 years of running a coffee shop/deli in Wales (bit of a coffee theme). Love fiction of every hue but lean towards anti heroes - Harry Hole, John Rebus ... dark thrillers, dystopian imaginings, that sort of thing. I write short stories, usually with a twist in the tale!

I'm Ben from just over the border, here in Canada. I write long fiction, short stories. It's a strange collection. I've written about the Mau Mau, the Japanese invasion of Manchuria, a novella spanning both World Wars, a fantasy novel I serialized: A BEGINNER'S GUIDE TO TIME TRAVEL; a coming of age story in Cornwall (1st World War era); a story that takes place in Montepulciano, a story in Rome (1963). I'm currently serializing a novel that takes place in the days of King Arthur. I drink both coffee and tea; one in the morning and the other in the evening.

I'm Gina. I read many fiction genres, but have a special place in my heart for coming-of-age, women's literature, and historical fiction (without romance as the main plotline). I also write in these genres so I drink a LOT of coffee. Green and black teas are acceptable substitutes when joe isn't available. I've just recently discovered Substack and am glad to be here! Thanks for creating Talebones!

Hello. Just stumbled across this, so thought I'd say hi.

Coffee, of course, though I'm currently on a slight detox.

I read a lot of fiction, but mainly enjoy fantasy/SciFi and magical realism. (Huge Murakami fan.)

Hello, I'm Caleb. I drink tea not coffee. I love everything Tolkien. I also love Agatha Christie, Edger Allan Poe, and more. My education, though, is in biblical studies which leads me into the areas of mythology, history, and theology. Still, I'm on Substack mostly for the creative writing side of things.

speculative tales with a spiritual, supernatural, or uncanny twist! Truth in advertising!

My name is Ann, Ann Gauger (rhymes with major). I like to read science, history, theology, fiction, poetry, some non-fiction not previously mentioned, and scifi of course. I am just beginning to explore writing myself.

I'm John, another Brit, of partial scottish ancestry. I live on the island just to the east of Ferris Island. I don't read much fiction, but I'm glad I made an exception for S.E. Reid! I also write here, mostly about water, which gives me wide latitude.

I used to drink tea when I lived in the north of England, but pretty much exclusively coffee these days. Well, that and beer.
