Fiction is never late, Frodo Baggins! (But this issue is…oops…)
After a phoneless weekend, your Editor apologizes for the delayed delivery of this particular missive. But don’t be fooled! Just because it’s a bit behind schedule, doesn’t mean it isn’t full of delicious fiction goodness! We’ve got a good dose of new projects and some bookshelf releases, along with a connection opportunity for writers on the East Coast of the US to check out!

📣 Announcements!
New Projects:
- has just launched his debut novel as a serial on Substack, called ISLA. Blurb: “Pop fresh batteries into your Walkman and follow twelve-year-old George Perez to the Yucatán coast, where faded myths hum beneath the surface and nothing stays buried for long. With each step, he’s drawn deeper into a story that might rewrite everything he thought he knew.” Jump into Chapter One here!
- (D A Kelly’s) first novel in the Memoirs of a Mad Scientist series, Solarpunk Outlaw, is currently underway as a free serial here on Substack. Synopsis: “Neurodiverse Robin Goodwin's 2076 memoir frames tales of the 113-year-old inventor's and allies' adventures fighting bureaucrats, profiteers, warlords, and fanatics to beat climate change, pollution, pandemics, and famines for a solarpunk future. 2076 is a world we hope to live in, a protopia that is not perfect but that gets a bit better every day. Robin is an autistic scientist and inventor who helped make this future possible. Robin's first-person memoir uses reflections and essays to frame a century's worth of anecdotes. These are the stories of one brilliant scientist's efforts to apply knowledge to enhance human flourishing.” Jump into the Prologue here!
- has just started a Choose Your Own Adventure-style story set in a magical world called Gaia. Blurb: “Help Tapi as he navigates his way through recruiting a team of adventurers to help him on a mysterious quest.” The adventure starts here!
Milestones & Wins:
- would like to share his new four-part poem with the Talestack News community, called Quadrilogy of Goodbye. From Rolando: “Four poems, woven with longing, memory, and the quiet ache of farewell. Some departures fade, but some linger—forever.”
