absolutely tremendous. There's worlds and worlds going on here.

Good timing because just last night I arrived at Tom Bombadil in my first read of LOTR--singing to the trees and all that has been on the mind.

I want to know more about brackers.

I want to know more about everything.

beautifully done.

What a stunning story. Your prose pulled me near. And this! “Despite the viciousness of the struggle it was eerily quiet, the two creatures seemingly aware of an unspoken need for peace in this sacred Orchard.” I won’t be surprised if my dreams take me back to the orchard’s perimeter tonight.

This was my thought too! The prose in this was a delight to read.

This is so beautifully written. I loved every sentence, and I definitely want to read more about Kip and Liddy! Congratulations on the Honourable Mention 😁

Oh I absolutely loved this! Can see it all in front of me and with very few words you create characters I believe in and want to succeed. So happy I read it right now even. Inspired!

"The woman who wears the full moon in her hair passed slowly behind the trees..."

This opening line was positively mythic. And the way it ended, wow. This is awesome.

I thought Australia was out to kill people, but I've changed my mind.

This Island, this solitary island off of Washington state may be more

dangerous than Australia.

Remind me to never set foot on this island and dream of someplace else

Anyplace else but Port Salish.

So much enjoyment and so many unexpected reveals! We usually celebrate the escape of beings to freedom from bondage, known or assumed. And we do here it seemed. But the last line of dialogue from Liddy, "Whatever I please", struck terror into my soul! The implications are possibly horrible from a freed Liddy unconstrained.

So good. You have a gift of crafting gloriously mystical descriptions. Like this - “The woman who wears the full moon in her hair passed slowly behind the trees, her scalp skimming the stars”. Swoon!

Kip is another character in fiction but I’m struggling to remember where and who.

‘The English Patient’ and of course it is redolent of Rudyard Kipling, Batemans etc.

The contrast between the two characters is compelling. I've a feeling it's only the start of Kip and Liddy's adventures!

I was happy to read details my state, btw. Spent a lot of time near orchards and the ocean :’) I could definitely smell everything and all my other senses were engaged. Powerful.
