All of this story is so very wonderfully written, but this episode in particular was beautifully poetic.

The story is lovely too of course. I love things with a mythology about them. Plus the obvious fairytale quality of the flashbacks.

If I was to say this is the best thing I've read from you so far that would definitely be saying something, because everything is so good, but I do think it is.

Continuing to love how much this expands the Ferris Island world, especially the Sumble setting.

Not a complete parallel, but feeling reminded a bit of Maya mythology unexpectedly. Specifically the figure Lady Blood, daughter of one of the lords of death who had to flee the underworld after becoming pregnant with the children of someone who traveled from the land of the living. And her children are important Maya heroes who royals claimed descent from, like how this is an origin story for the Brackers. Also not her father specifically, but one of the lords of death was named One Death, so One Prince reminds me of that.

I am really enjoying this story. I sad down and read six chapters. I think, perhaps, I have surrounded myself with too much non-fiction.

Okay just to clarify, Bill is OG, right? I want to say OG's name was William, but I haven't mustered the willpower to go back and search for it.

This was a delightful read! Can't wait for the next chapter.

This part was full of key puzzle pieces that are very revealing, and yet they hint and whisper of danger undefined... malevolent players who wait and watch and report to one that likely pays a bounty. A bounty to recover or a bounty to have vengeance? And the spirit of the island watches and prepares defenses against those seen as a threat I think...blood is likely to be split!
