Oh my…I can’t wait to read more and yet I’m afraid of what I might read. This is a gripping, agonizing tale. I feel for both Paul and Burgess…and Naomi caught between them.
Another great piece—love how you brought in a little bit more of the world! I can't wait to see what happens... I have inklings about how things could go sideways, but I'll just have to wait and see.
Oof... there's so much heartbreak floating just out of reach here and it's all gonna come crashing down soon. I'm so invested in these characters! And this world -- the whole concept fascinates me and I love this glimpse into more of what this world looks like.
So, so enjoying this story S.E. Burgess is a sympathetic character, and yet terrifying! And I love his theory of why some of the shells deteriorated and others didn't. The destructive power of the rage from the erased souls is such a concept to consider.
I know this is a good story because I can think of five or six things that could happen—five or six ways this could end—and I kind of want all of them to happen.
The plot truly thickens, in the very best sense of the phrase! With careful word choices and authentic dialogue, you’ve managed to flesh out these characters and entangle them in a web of relationships that leaves us eager for more. You’ve also created a dystopian future that is utterly believable. Terrific story-crafting!
I really want the next episode to come, but I’m also a wee bit (make that a lot) terrified about my heart breaking when it does.

Oh yikes. I don't know if I'd even thought about the possibilities of something untoward being done with the preserved shells. Yiiiiikes.
finally started and caught up with story—such a cool idea, and a I love the ethereal vibe of this place and your writing—really nice nice
I’m crying 🥹 My heart literally aches with the question: Am I your son? So beautiful and terrifying. I really don’t want Burgess to kill him
Guilty... I jumped in to this piece without having read the previous parts! But some very well-voiced characters in this piece.
I also don't know why, but it gives the impression of having been written on paper. Not sure why I feel that. Perhaps I'm totally wrong.
I loved the breath-holding tension...wondering, is Paul going to ask 'then why did you print me?'. Can't wait to see what happens next!
Thank you for sharing this story with us.
