I just said this almost word for word! Lol

I'm sure others have already asked, but: How did this two part serial turn into 7 parts???

Not that I'd complain. I thought you paced it brilliantly. The unravelling of the sci fi element - WASPEP's purpose - was especially well done. As was Paul's history. The reveal of Burgess's intention (to kill Paul) and the moment with the pair of them in the forest, where he finally lets go of his hate; they're the two pillars of this story, and the two best scenes IMO.

yes completely agree with you there Sam

This is my question, too. How much of the story did you know when part I aired, and how/when did it evolve?

What a great ride! I hope Burgess didn't start another Bolt Creek fire 🔥!

I love the theme of forgiveness and reconciliation. Also, I was almost going to say the theme of resurrection, but it's really more death and rebirth, something that might have figured in another tale I've read recently. I guess that's a question!

Aunt Sally, your basic goodness and humanity shines through everything you write. Thank you for all you do.

Yessss... i did of course want horror and darkness because i always do... but aside from that very personal and inconsequential gripe, an absolutely superb story and would make a brilliant film, surely??? who would be Burgess... Walken?

Great ending to a great series. Since you asked for questions: I’d love to know what went according to your initial plan and what didn’t. Was it the overall plot, the characters beats, the ending? What changed and what stayed the same, and how did you decide?

Thanks for this great story.

Loved it! Nothing better than a story that ends well. I was worried for a time that this was a tragedy and not a comedy (in the classical sense), and kept waiting for a reveal that Paul did indeed remember who he was, and was faking his amnesia while winning over the others and biding his time to strike. But this ending is much better—I'm glad to go home happy, so to speak. Five stars.

Brilliant story and so totally absorbing and evocative. And I think on reflection I am glad you chose this happy ending - my own darker soul was thinking Paul was lying about not remembering and would go all psycho or something. But given the redemptive theme, that would simply not have worked and just turned it into a kind of cliched horror movie thing.

So, thanks for this ending. And for sharing the story with us. This world does indeed need more good things in it. And we often need to be reminded that there is already a lot of it about.

This story is phenomenal. It has everything it needs to be a successful story, but beyond that it is filled with beauty and hope and redemption. So satisfying!
