Dear Reader…
Happy February!
Howdy, folks, and welcome back! Last week I took an unplanned hiatus from The Weekly, partly because I was working on other projects and partly because I felt I didn’t have enough “bulk” to make up a whole roundup, but here we are again!
We’re keeping things short and simple this time around, just gathering up all the bits and pieces from around the Talebones universe, so read on to make sure you didn’t miss anything.
Let’s get started!
Weekly Round-Up!
In Case You Missed It…
Brokeneck - in this short, spooky piece of flash fiction, Cane’s incomplete culling of the alder trees on his property leaves the door open for something sinister to seek its revenge…
ISSUE SEVENTEEN of TALESTACK NEWS dropped last week, with a roundup of the latest fiction updates from around the Substack neighborhood, including new serials, new newsletters, new audio media, books ready for preorder, award winners, and some cool ways to get plugged in. Be sure to catch up before the next issue comes out on 2/19!
Freelance and Fishmaids, our 12-part episodic novella, is heading for its conclusion! Here’s how you can get involved:

The next episode drops this Friday, so stay tuned!
…and that’s all, for now!
Thank you for reading!
First of all: a big THANK YOU to everyone who read and enjoyed our Archive-escapee stories last month! It was such a joy to share those with a wider audience, and I very much appreciate everyone who generously joined the Archive as a result.
In the next week or so, you’ll be seeing information about our changeover to Spring Season here at Talebones. Seasonal shifts around here are always a great excuse to try new things and spruce things back up, so I’m excited to embark on a new seasonal adventure with all of you!
As always: thank you for your readership! It is such an honor to have your generous attention, and I want you to know that I never take it for granted.
Your grateful storyteller,

I have weekly email envy! I wish I had something to deliver to my community on a weekly basis. As it stands I'm thinking of retiring my 1st of the month emails because they seem so bleh and boring. Way to go with all the amazing writing every week! I wanna be like you when I grow up!
I really enjoyed Brokeneck because that story could fit into the world I created for my novel, Leaves of Fall.
