Dear Reader…
Welcome back to another exciting edition of The Weekly! In these posts, I make sure that we’re all on the same page on our seasonal path through the storytelling year here on Talebones.
Let me catch you up on what you may have missed and introduce you to what’s coming up around the corner!
The Founder’s Week Saga
This past week, I posted a bonus supernatural tale (split into three parts) in honor of Ferris Island Founder’s Week! This was both a celebration of the island’s historic founding in August of 1792 AND…my birthday! ;)
In case you missed it or didn’t read the whole thing, check out each part below:
If you enjoyed this style of story and want to see more, be sure to comment below and let me know!
Ivy & Ixos is nearing the end!
It’s hard to believe, but Ivy’s tale is coming to a close!
Catch up by reading Issue Ten - Birdmint, or head to the Table of Contents to pick up where you left off.
Because there is simply too much going on in this upcoming episode of Ivy & Ixos, I don’t want to spoil a single moment. So, NO EXCERPT, this week!
See you all on Friday!
The Archive is opening soon!
Now that some of our busyness at the start of the month is over, I will be turning my attention to the official opening of the Talebones Archive at the end of August!
(Not sure how our Seasonal Publishing works? Find out here!)
What’s Going To Happen?
Everyone who is on the list for a free limited-time comp (my auditors and contest winners - you know who you are!) will have their comps turned on.
Our three monthly Summer Short Tales and the entirety of Ivy & Ixos will be heading behind the paywall, so if you want to read ‘em free you only have a few weeks! (For now, all flash fiction will remain free.)
A Seasonal Summary and some exclusive resources (including the Ferris Island map!) will drop for our Archive Members.
The Fall Season schedule will appear—I can’t wait to show you what’s coming up!
If you are interested in becoming an Archive member, you can choose to pay $2.50/month or $30/year. We also have a Founding Member option for those who want to go above and beyond to support the Ferris Island economy!
And THANK YOU!
Every dollar makes a huge difference to my continued ability to tell stories here.

Growing up along the Gulf Coast, there are four seasons. Summer, summer, summer and SUMMER. Southern Louisiana is a semi tropical climate. Leaves on trees either stay green or just die. There's no inbetween. Since moving to Chicago 23(!!!!!) years ago, fall has become my favorite time of year. It's like overnight and BAM! A burst of oranges, yellows, reds all over the place. The air is crisp.
Are you considering releasing Ivy and Ixos on, say, Amazon? The story is so endearing and magical. It could be marketed to adults and children alike, because I don't know a single person who wouldn't enjoy it.
And I'm looking forward to fall! It feels like September here today, and while I'm missing my warm August, it'll be nice to sit outside with a cup of coffee and a hoodie.
